Transition
Uncertainty
Nothing is clear
It is neither day nor night
But day is approaching
as darkness fades
and yields to the light
Light is always there
but blocked by the orb
that holds us together in community
Always moving
pulling us in toward its core
anchoring our reality
Dawn invites shadows
to draw long images of us on the ground
Themselves moving with us
shrinking slowly as the day brightens
submitting to the light
We are not more than shadows ourselves
A darker reflection of the Light
that gives us our breath and our being
Our lives cycle between light and darkness
The light leaves for a while
Or so we think...
But it is we who are shadowed from the light
as the world pulls us again into darkness
The light will return
Darkness is a necessary byproduct of the rotational cycle
for others to experience their light
We must dwell in our darkness for a season
Darkness can teach us much
For we only understand it by the absence of light
And so we anticipate
Expect
The light to return
Yet it is we who return to it
By standing firm
And waiting
Watching
for the earth to bring us back to it
...all in God’s time
